Castel Giuliano

History

Once an ancient estruscan and roman settlement, turned into a possession of the Patrizi marchional family since the sixteenth century, the Park of Castel Giuliano is strategically located on top of a hill, next to the Tolfa Montains, a few miles from Bracciano.

After centuries of relinquishment, the landlords intended to return the park, the castle and the family church to the original forgotten splendour and magnificence, thanks to long and faithful restorations.

Hundreds of antique roses climb over the old walls, while shrubs fill large spaces together with Digitalis, true Myrtle and blue Ceanotus. Ruins of Etruscan burials and caves covered by fern and lichen emerge from the dense wood to remind us of past ages.
